The Q-Helix ecosystem
The Q-Helix European University Alliance brings together 11 partners across Europe around a common vision of inclusive, innovative education and research. Recognised with the European Commission’s Seal of Excellence, the initiative works to develop joint solutions to societal challenges.
Q-Helix builds on the Quintuple Helix model: cooperation among academia, industry, public authorities, civil society and the natural environment. The alliance brings partners together to develop learning opportunities, research collaboration and innovation through an international ecosystem.
The Seal of Excellence recognises the quality of the proposal; it does not mean that the alliance has been funded through the Erasmus+ European Universities initiative.
Our four areas of cooperation
Healthcare
Interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers and clinicians, spanning prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and mental and physical wellbeing.
Environmental conservation and restoration
Work on sustainability, environmental monitoring, restoration and related projects, including Ocean Literacy and urban environmental data.
Smart City Development
Smart infrastructure, responsible energy use, connected security and digital assistance supporting accessible, safe and sustainable urban living.

Q-Helix brings together university expertise with businesses, public institutions and society. Its approach connects research and practical development with flexible lifelong learning, including upskilling and micro-credentials, to support the green and digital transitions.
